FORTI PRODUCTS UPDATE
Introducing FortiGate-80C, FortiGate-80CM & FortiWifi-80CM
Fortinet is pleased to announce new addition of new FortiGate-80C/CM and FortiWifi-80CM multi-threat security appliances to expand the existing family of FortiGate devices. The FortiGate-80C/CM is a multi-function security device that protects and connects remote and branch offices, retail networks, and telecommuters to centralized headquarter or regional offices. Operating on the recently introduced FortiOS 4.0 operating system, the FG-80C/CM also boasts data leakage prevention, SSL inspection, and application control to offer protection against Web 2.0 threats and evasive applications and users.
Primary benefits of the FG-80C/CM and FW-80CM include :
2x10/100/1000 WAN interfaces, 1x10/100 DMZ interface, 6x10/100 internal interfaces, 1xRJ-11 telco jack (CM models only), 2xUSB ports, 1xRJ-45 console port, 1xExpressCard slot.
New AMC Modules - ASM-ET4/ ASM-SAS
Later this month, Fortinet will begin shipping two new Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) modules for FortiGate multi-threat security appliances. The ASM-ET4 WAN Module and the ASM-SAS Storage module join the ever expanding array of optional modules that extend the capabilities of the FortiGate platform.
The Fortinet ASM-ET4 WAN module is the first in a new category of modules and adds up to four (4) full rate T1/E1 wide area network connections directly to FortiGate-310B and FortiGate-620B multi-threat security appliances.
The single width AMC form-factor ASM-SAS storage module enables external SAS or SATA storage systems to work seamlessly with supported FortiGate platforms. The ASM-SAS module features two (2) external connectors that support up to four (4) devices per port. Fortinet storage modules extend the capabilities of FortiGate multi-threat security systems by enabling local storage for system and security event logging. The modules also enable the WAN optimization features found in FortiOS 4.0, which works to accelerate applications commonly affected by slower network connections.
Introducing FortiScan-1000B
The FortiScan-1000B, Fortinet's first appliance based on technology from the Secure Elements acquisition, is a new vulnerability management (VM) and compliance solution for endpoint assets (operating systems) including desktops, laptops and servers. Secure Elements' C5 Compliance solution was the leader in its class in Federal and Infrastructure markets and forms the basis for the FortiScan-1000B. This new appliance integrates C5 with the Vulnerability Scanner from our FortiAnalyzer family of logging, analyzing and reporting appliances, adding agent-less network-level VM capabilities to automatically discover, inventory and assess the security posture of servers and hosts.
Today's businesses are required to address security and compliance risks on their IT infrastructure on a daily basis as part of their Information Technology Governance, Risk and Compliance (ITGRC) strategies. Most businesses rely on a collection of point products and manual processes when attempting to solve this problem. FortiScan enables organisations to close IT compliance gaps, and implement continuous monitoring of host and server assets in order to audit, evaluate, and comply with internal, industry, and regulatory policies for IT controls and security.
