IBM has always been a pioneer in security solutions. Now, IBM is proud in bringing out the industry's first encrypting tape drive: IBM System Storage^TM TS1100 tape drive family.

The tape encryption solution consists of a new and innovative IBM encryption key manager (EKM) component for the Java^TM platform and has the capability to integrate with IBM System Z^TM encryption-key, policy-management, security and cryptographic capabilities. As it is designed to help address tape-data security concerns, it is available as a standard feature on all TS1120 tape drives.
